Senseless

Today is a shocking and terribly sad day for two families. One has a child that was murdered in cold blood while the other has a child that is facing the consequences of the crime. All happened in a school compound, on a school day.

I never imagined this kind of situation will happen in Singapore, but it did. Why? How much hatred can a young person harbour to want to harm people in such a manner? 

I always believe that everyone needs a listening ear as and when, an outlet to let out the steam, a shoulder to cry or lean on. Will the tragedy be prevented if there is someone he can approach or talk to? 

I hope we can all be kinder to each other, more patience with one another, and the strength to forgive others. My prays for both of them.

Another year passed

Eu has successfully admitted into Polytechnic while Tien has done pretty well for her literature, art subjects and scored within the top ten for her level.

Had a good long holidaying in Tasmania and NSW during December period.

Well, a new year begins, another journey starts!

WOW! That's been a while

Didn't realise I was gone for so long!

Tien is already in her first year of secondary school life while Eu is struggling with O level. Time does fly really fast!

I am proud

I sure am, with my two children.

Eu will be going to primary two next year, while Tien is off diaper and milk at night since she passed her fourth birthday. Nothing that will cause the earth to shake, but to a mother, these are great achievement her babies had put in effort to get there.

Cheapo

Someone stole my trolley while I was away choosing prawns. And this super desparado cheapo person may had taken my picks as well, as I could not see any of the stuff being off loaded nearby where I had left the trolley. I was fuming and all B can say was: "Aiya, it is something that will happen sooner or later. You always leave the trolley unattended. Luckily, you only lose $1. Remember the other time, the mickey so dirty also got people want....." Geeze, why can't he say something like this: " curse that %#*@^%$!!"

Now that makes more sense

Finally, the government has upped childcare leaves from two days to six. I have never understood how they had came up with two days of childcare leaves when they are trying so hard to get people to have more children. Even when both parents take turn to claim the leaves to care for their children during the closure of the childcare center, it is not enough because the center is allowed to close for 5 additional days apart from official holidays. Matters will get even more complicated if you happen to have place your children at different centers, as the leaves do not multiply by the number of children you have. Now, with six days each, I am definitely more comfortable when the childcare center announce its closure.
