School visit

The speech language pathologist and educational psychologist should be doing their observation in Eu's class now, while I'm typing. Wonder how Eu will react when he sees auntie Sri appearing in his school and not when he visits her weekly in the clinic. Wonder how the class will be doing with two strangers among them. I'm both nervous and excited. Hubby is not really into this. He felt this is a waste of money and we should have just switch him to another school will do. But I would not know what was going on in that class forever. I will not understand why my son is having so much problems. I want to know how I can help him so that he is able to enter primary one as a confident, happy and welcome child.

More baking

To demonstrate to hubby my oven will not be an white elephant, I baked again over the weekend. He has always been skeptical over my baking skill, but who cares, my kids love them will do!

Saw this Kranji Countryside news in the papers today. A few farmers in that area have come together to form an association and promoting the countryside. Some great outdoor places to visit and be close to nature!

Mission completed

Yeah! Finished the crafts Eu and Tien are to deliver for teacher's day celebration. Every year, I scratch my head hard to think of ideas on what kind of crafts which can involve Eu in the process of making. I'm not a creative person, so this IS a tough task for me. Finding time to search for ideas, to source for materials, to making the crafts itself, has been a challenge. And this year, the number of crafts needed doubled due to Tien. But, everytime after we had finished the project, I always have this satisfaction and proud feeling. These are the works done by me and my kids with all our hearts.

Is there age limit to retaliation?

Eu's teacher had wrote that he had biten a classmate's finger during disagreement yesterday, and asked us to talk to him about such inappropriate behaviour. Nothing was written on what caused him to do that.

This morning, when daddy was in school, the teacher asked if he had spoken to Eu about the incident. Daddy answered yes, and tried to find out if what Eu had told him was true. This was what happened:

There is a behavioural chart in the classroom, where good behaviour will entitle a student to a star and bad behaviour to a cross. Eu and this boy were in front of the chart, and Eu started to put stars to his name. This boy then proceed to put crosses instead, and at the same time said: " No, you are going to get cross on Monday, cross on Tuesday, cross on Wednesday...". Eu shouted: "Hey!", but the boy continued and so got biten.

To me, this is a very common and normal incident with children, and both parties need to be told that they were in the wrong, not just my son alone. What got daddy angry with the teacher was when she commented that Eu is in K1, and should not behave in such manner when provoke. But that kid is insulting him! If this was to happen in the adult world, I think the other party would have gotten a black eye.
