Had a wonderful time at the dinosaurs exhibition and Science Centre on Saturday.

Was reading Ange's post on her husband's encounter with a couple where the wife doubted the husband. I'm often guilty of that. Why? Well, because of this and this. However there are times where I had been overly skeptical, and was wrong on my allegation. One such incident happened over the weekend:

Tien poo-poo, and I was cleaning her bottom with some baby wipes and wet cotton wool.

Me: Can you get me some cotton wool? Wet it please.
(Tien was playing with the ones that I had prepared)

Hub: *Put down the cotton wool in the plate that was behind my back*

Me: Did you wet it?
(Did not turn over my head to see)

Hub: Yes.

Me: You did not wet it using that little water in the plate, did you?
(I was sure he did not go into the kitchen to wet the cotton wool)

Hub: No? You want it to be wet right?
*Brought the plate to my face*

At that same instance, hubby realised I was doubting him, and I also remembered there is a toilet in the same room where the cotton wool was kept.

Hub: I used the washroom in the study.

Me: *Guilty smile*

Good thing hubby was in a good mood, else an argument would had evolved over wetting cotton wool.

Happy Mother's Day!

Had forgotten this Sunday will be Mother's Day, until I found these flowers made by Eu and Tien in their school bags while unpacking. Asked Eu if the flower was for me, and he smiled at me saying: "I love you mommy!" "I love you too!" was my reply.

Eu loves this advertisement and the song that was used. It is indeed a much nicer one, compared to the current one that is running. I don't even understand what the people are saying.

Well, it's going to be another long weekend in Singapore. Hope it will be a fun filled one for my kids, and yours' too!

Visit to KKH

No, not about Eu. Here's what happened:

Date: May 6
Time: Around 8 in the evening
Place: John Little at Plaza Singapura

Our little family was walking in the departmental store after dinner. I decided to look at some clothes for the children and left them with Daddy. In less than a minute, daddy came to me , carrying a crying Tien. He said something like this: "S***! She fell and got a cut at her chin." My heart sank after hearing this, and my immediate response was to scold daddy because I saw him at another aisle while the kids were at the next. He retorted: "She just walk and fell, what can I do?!" If he had followed closely, then really, I had nothing to say. BUT, he wasn't! Sesame and Zara's mama, this is one good example where if I can, I will definitely kick him right at the spot to outer space!

We went to KKH A&E, since we had no idea which was the nearest clinic that was still opened on a public holiday night. As usual, the children's A&E was crowded. We got our registration done at 8.33pm and the nurse instructed us not to give any food and drink to Tien, as most probably she will need some anaesthetic to have the cut stitched up. After waiting for half an hour, the impatient daddy started to curse and said should had went to Mount E since the fee would be more or less the same. Our turn finally came at around 9.15pm, but the doctor could not performed the stitches as her dinner was still not very digested yet. Time given for the mini operation, 10.30pm. That's a good one hour more of wait. Daddy decided to go for a spin, since the kids couldn't sit still, and Tien also started to request for milk. Came back before the scheduled time, and Tien's name was called to go into the treatment room shortly. One parent was allowed into the room, and I went in with her. She started crying loudly upon seeing the unfamiliar environment. A nurse administered a dose of drug to her, and she was knocked off in 2 minutes. I was then asked to wait outside the room. The whole procedure took about 20 minutes, and she was pushed out to the observation area. We were told she could only leave after she woke up and showing no distress signs. Gosh! At least another 2 hours wait, so we decided to send Eu over to my sister's place to rest.

11.45pm and Tien still not showing sign she wanted to wake up, so the nurse decided to give her a cold wipe on the face. That did the trick, and she was yelling with her eyes wide opened. The doctor came to examine her at around 12.15am and was allowed to be discharged. Reached home closed to 1.30am. Sleepy and tired!

A late post

Was busy with work and stressed up over Eu's issue. Hubby don't see any problem over the school's concerns, and is not into the idea of seeking professional help. Hum! Of course he has no problem! I'm the one that faces the complaint, everytime when there's one, not him. I'm the one the teachers will first look for to talk to, not him. Grghhh...

Anyway, finally found the mood and time to write and arrange the pics on the easter fair.

An uneventful visit

Was referred to the Child Guidance Clinic by a polyclinic doctor. I had wanted to go to KK, but the doctor just said something like they will assess first then decide. Looking at the address of the clinic, I thought I was sent to the place I wanted to visit. Managed to get an earlier appointment after I wrote in. The date given initially was late July.

The registration at the clinic was a pain. We were given a file, and told to fill up 6-8 pages of forms which included at least 4 pages of questionnaires. Some of the questions I found them not applicable to my situation, but there's no such choice of answer. Frustration! When we finally met the doctor, we talk more than she did. At the end of the session, all she said was Eu is too young to be assessed if he is suffering from ADHD, and asked us if we like to come back 1 or 2 years later for another assessment. Huh? No further advice or counseling on his behavioral issues. What sort of consultation is this? I was disappointed and lost.

I'm trying to find out more about ovspring. This clinic was recommended by our family doctor. Definitely it's going to cost a bomb, but I hope I get to hear something more helpful.
