Sweet!

Sometimes they are like dogs fighting for the same bone, but they can be nice to each other too. And when they do, it always melt my heart away!

Here's another happy together pic. Has been quite difficult to capture their together pics. Not because they are separated, but they just refuse to cooperate.

Hold my hand

Was told during lunch, the husband of a colleague was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. I was totally shock and wanted to cry. This is a second time such unfortunate thing happened in my office. It is even more emotional when there is children in the family. The mother will not only needs to handle her own grief, but that of her children. It's just so sad when you want to hold your partner's hand to the day when you have wrinkles on your skin and your hair turns white, but you are not able to. It just make your heart aches to think your children will no longer have kisses and hugs from one parent. My the other colleague, went through great effort to retrieve and saved her husband voice-mail greeting and messages, so that her boy will be able to hear daddy's voice in a more natural way. I've seen her crying her heart out in the first few months after her husband's death, in the office's washroom. Life is just so unexpected.

I will be stepping into my ninth year of marriage tomorrow. I want many more nine years to come. I want to hold your hand and grow old together. I do not know how we will turn out, but for the time being, please hold on to my hand and don't let go!

Breakfast...

By the side-walk (12 March 06, Sunday)

Went all the way to Holland V for tim-sum, only to realize the 2nd storey of the restaurant was not opened due to shortage of staff. It was pack and we were offered a table by the walkway with no air-conditioning. Eu was pretty upset with the arrangement as he was feeling the heat from the warm humid weather. Managed to pacify him with cold soya bean milk and on with the tim-sum breakfast. After the two kids had their tummy filled, they started to play catching. One good point about dining alfresco, you get to eat and watch over the kids while they play, and not disturbing the rest of the diners. Here's some pics of Tien monkeying, taken by Eu.

By the pool (11 March 06, Saturday)

Seen lots of ang-mohs in the estate doing it, decided to be a copy-cat and tried it out. The kids had a whale of fun, while mommy chill out. Yeh!

Nightmare

In my life, there are two dreams which I consider as nightmares, but some how, they will appear once in a while in my sleep. One of these nightmares has me walking outdoor bare footed. I don't know what happened to my shoes, why wasn't I wearing any, and I was frantically searching for them. I was never being able to find that pair of missing shoes and would woke up in the middle of that crazy shoes hunting business.

Tien is very particular over having her shoes on when going out, even if she has no intention of walking on her own. She will scream and cry, pointing to her bare feets: "shoo shoo!" until you put on shoes for her. Couldn't quite remember, but I must have had this nightmare quite often when I was pregnant with her.

This really pissed me off!

Had an unpleasant encounter this morning when I was about to get to my car after dropping the kids at school. One of those rude and inconsiderent parent almost knock me down! And I tell you, I wasn't even on the road yet. I was standing on the drain railing outside the picket fence, which the school had put up outside the classrooms, and no car is supposed to park near the fence area or do drop off unless it's raining. However, there are always this bunch of idiot parents who just cannot follow simple instruction, causing inconvenience to others and danger to the children. I should have confronted the driver then, but I didn't. Probably too shock of what had happened. There were empty parking lots, but she just drove her car right into me without slowing down or letting me go first. I wonder will she bother to stop if there's a child there? Anyway, wrote a complaint letter to the principal. Hopfully, she will do something about it. Grggggh, now I regret not kicking that b*t*h's car!

A wonderful evening!

Daddy is away again. And yesterday night was one rare occasion, especially when hubby is not around, where everything falls nicely in its place without me having to scream, yell and pull hair. Left office 5.30 sharp to pick up Eu and Tien. The drive home was smooth. No major jam and the kids were well behaved. Normally, Tien will start to fuss when we are 2/3 into the journey, or Eu will start to make Tien all agitated and scream her head off. Well, nothing of that sort happened. Eu even helped me passed the milk to Tien at one point. Dinner time was a breeze too! No chasing, no running and no forcing food in between those tightly closed lips. By 8.15, I had them bathed and changed. Tien, surprisingly was willing to watch the TV programs by herself. Taking the opportunity, I went for my shower, asking mom to take a look at them. Tien was already drifting to dreamland by the time I stepped out of the bathroom. Eu also started to feel sleepy, and requested for milk. Within 15 minutes, both were snoring away! Looking at the clock, it's 5 minutes before 9. Wow! I had broke the record by settling all before 9. Packed their bags for tomorrow, and it's not even 9.30 yet. How I wish every night will be just the same!

Cable car ride

Eu is into cable car rides lately, and we went for a round trip ride last Saturday. The ride is about 40 minutes, and costed a total of $27.30. Ouch! Since there's Friends of the Zoo, Friends of the Birds, is there such a thing as Friends of the Cable Car?

Had breakfast at The Cheese Prata Shop, before heading for the station.

Some pics taken on the ride
