All I want for Christmas is ....

.... my bottom front tooth. The milk teeth changing process has began for Eu. Geez.., that will officially mean he is entering into the big kid stage where they do not like to be called babies.

Check ups

Teeth
Tien was very good this time for the dentist visit. She had her teeth checked, patched a cavity and had them cleaned complete with fluoride application. Keeping my fingers crossed she will behave just as well in the next visit. She is one hot chilli pepper that not only kicked and screamed during previous visits, but had biten the dentist too.

Eyes
Brought Eu to the refraction clinic for the yearly checkup, as the current daycare student rate was not high enough to have the national healthcare provider to send people down. No short sightedness at the moment but suffers astigmatism. Need to start thinking about glare proofing the house.

Bake me a cake

Another birthday is down the pipeline, and am busy searching for that perfect cake. So far, I have been happy with my orders, except with Tien's latest cake. It was beautiful and tasted delicious. So what's the problem? First of all, the baker had the collection place wrong and that caused delay in delivering the cake to the eagerly waiting children. Second, the cake was not kept refrigerated properly till collection time. It looked soft and spongy when opened up, and because of the softness, one side of the cake was being scrapped off. Lastly, I ordered a 2kg cake, but no matter at which angle I looked, I could not get to that weight. With less than 10 children, I did not even have enough for the teachers. How embrassing! That will be my first and last encounter with a freelance baker. Hubby is still nagging, whenever he has the chance, for spending that kind of money on a child's birthday cake.

With that experience, I shall stick back to getting the cake from a proper cake shop. But I came to realise it is not that easy to find a shop that does number cake (except number one) in the flavour and design I want. Now what?
